Hedging & Screening

Hedges are use to create outdoor rooms, to block off the sun and to create a windbreak and to screen an unattractive view or to create a living wall. Creating a thick hedge or screen acts like a fence, keeping things in and keping others out. Remember plants can be selected for hedging that have coloured foliage, scented to non scented flowers, edible fruit and berries, and bird attracting.

Here are some factors to take into consideration when planning to grow a hedge or screen

  1. How tall would you like the hedge or screen
  2. What is your soil type - heavy clay to sand, quality of drainage
  3. Will it be full sun or shade
  4. You will need to feed your hedge- water, fertilisers and mulch
  5. Ensure you have the right tools and products to maintain the hedge or screen

At Woodys we grow proven varities of hedging and screening plants that are suited to North Queensland.

Listed below are just some of the varities available from 140mm pots to 45kg bags. Simply call or email Woody for more information
